JOZ develops and delivers technologically advanced products for every barn. With our mobile robots and mechanical products, we are one of the top providers in the market for manure removal systems. We know the barn inside and out and continuously innovate. Our smart solutions are applicable worldwide, and by being able to communicate with everything and everyone, we provide peace of mind for users. Through a global dealer network, JOZ’s products and services find their way to farmers. All our products are developed and manufactured in-house at our production facility in Westwoud or Middenmeer.
Assignment
In this internship assignment, the main goal is to take our existing simulation of the manure robot to the next level. We want to focus on two key aspects: enhancing the visualization experience and beefing up the simulation with more hardware components. We’re really keen on developing a visualization tool that’s not just functional but also user-friendly and visually appealing. This tool will allow us to monitor the simulation in real-time and dig into the data for analysis. Imagine something sleek and intuitive that gives us a clear picture of what’s happening with the robot and its surroundings. At the same time, we want to make sure our simulation is as close to the real thing as possible. That means bringing in additional hardware components like Gyro/IMU, motor speeds, sidewing pressure and interaction with the map. By adding these elements, we can create a more comprehensive representation of how the robot interacts with its environment. By combining these efforts, we aim to create a simulation environment that not only mirrors real-world scenarios but also provides valuable insights for further development and optimization. Additionally automated tests regarding the software can be added as well inside our CI/CD pipeline to validate our robot behaviors.
What do we ask?
Preferably, you are pursuing a technical HBO or WO education with a focus on software. During your studies, you have previous experience working with visualizations or have gained experience with ROS. Experience in programming in C++ is advantageous. During your internship, you will work independently towards a proof-of-concept, with support from experienced software engineers. Our test engineers will assist you in setting up the necessary development environment. In addition to delivering a proof-of-concept, at the end of your internship period, you will submit a research report detailing all considerations and findings. This report will provide JOZ with the insights needed to take the next steps based on your results!
